Nebraska City – 12/17/11

JV Patriot Wrestling at Nebraska City (12/17/2011)

The Patriot wrestlers competed at the Nebraska City JV tournament on Saturday, December 17th, 2011.  Out of the 12 JV teams entered, the Patriots were able to earn 2nd place by wrestling hard and winning the close matches.  Host team Nebraska City took 1st with 215 points, while the Patriots were able to put 187 points on the board.  The Patriots could have seriously pushed the host Pioneers had their line up been at full-strength.  With an OPEN already at 113 and 220, Dan Beckwith out with an injury at 195, and Grant Collins wrestling hurt at 170, the Patriots were still able to earn 10 medals on the day and come away with the runner-up trophy.   Another amazing stat was that 3 wrestlers (O’Connor, Watson, and Marin) lost their very first match then wrestled all the way back through to earn at least a 4th place medal.
