Summary:
The Patriots capped off a 10-0 dual weekend by claiming the Nebraska Duals Championship. To date, this is the Patriots most dominant result at the duals. The team shut out 4 opponents and kept another 2 to only 1 win. Likewise the team recorded the most All-Tournament team members in the history of the event. 9 team members finished the weekend undefeated, and another 2 only lost 1 match. The outcome of the weekend was total dominance. Ryan Kostszewa was able to best the class B defending state champion in what would be the defining match of the weekend.

“We have to keep things in perspective after such a weekend. Yes, we dominated the competition which is what we want, but we also have to acknowledge that the competition was down a little. The tournament lost two really quality teams this year, and it hurt the overall depth of the event,” said head coach, Doug Denson. “We also like to look at this event as a way to get a lot of matches and see a lot of growth in our guys.”

“We came away satisfied with the outcome of course,” said assistant head coach, Jay Meneely. “Our team cannot be satisfied at this point. We have to work hard to improve; our toughest challenges will be coming down the road here so we will use this tournament to get better.”
