MSWC again competed at the Sergeant Bluff’s Winter Brawl for the 2nd year in a row. This year the team was a little short on fire power. Seven different starters had a conflicting junior high tournament on the same day so they could not compete. This provided an opportunity for a few backups to step up to the challenge. Two junior high wrestlers with limited experience stepped up in a big way. Kiah Rasmussen and Cody Naidas both filled in for guys wrestling with great conviction and technical ability. A key match during the dual tournament was Mikey Mass against a Westside wrestler with extensive experience who is rumored to be attending Millard South for High school. Mikey lost to this wrestler by tech fall giving up 15+ points in only two periods the previous week, but this time Mikey would stay in good position and set himself up with several scoring opportunities. He would lose the match 9-2 which showed a vast improvement in just one week!
